We are 9 days into the New Year and all is going well. I have been working steadily, and finding time to complete at least one craft project and hope to upload the picture very shortly.

I finally got my Cricut Expression and am having a great deal of fun with it....what an awesome machine...it will take some time for me to work out all the features and although I didn't purchase the pink one as I'd hoped there is no reason I cannot make the most of this one...

Jackie & my Grands.

I am spending time with my daughter Jackie & her family today before I have to head home tomorrow and my heart is in two places at the moment. I am loving every moment that I have had with her, and my grandchildren have grown up so much!

My heart is joyful, but I am having bittersweet tears as well because she is moving back out west and this is the last time I will see her for a very long time and I am going to miss her and the children so very much.

Boston Bruins win Stanley Cup

The Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup last night and they did a great job and they deserve the cup! Congratulations!!

However the rioting in Vancouver after the game was over is beyond disgusting and Vancouverites should be beyond ashamed of their city and all those who took part in the riots. I actually saw some guy whining on ctv news "it wasn't supposed to happen this way" and my question is why do people get so bent out of shape over a game?, the rabid behaviour of sports fans is out of this world, and just plain stupid.

Its unbelievable how classless the rioters were and I truly hope they are caught and prosecuted.

Ah, such is life! I have so many things that I want to work on, especially in terms of getting back my Craftting mojo, but the main issue is time, and I don't have lots of time to begin a new project.

I've been viewing a lot of videos on YouTube and I have found quite a few Mini Albums that people have created and its so inspiring. I must figure out a way to take lessons/classes to learn new mediums and techniques.....

Olde Tyme Country Crafts is a great store and I always find ideas when I am there...I think a visit is long overdue...

That time of year is upon us once again and it will be here before we know it. I love to read about how people spend the holidays, and especially the different customs that different cultures have.

I am saddened to see that it has become so commercialized though and the true meaning of Christmas seems to be lost...it has become about gifts and charging up credit cards to the max and seemingly less about helping out the less fortunate, and I like to learn more about people who give back to their communities and ask nothing for themselves.

In Memory of my Dad

My dad passed away earlier this year and as a family we miss him. I had planned to visit him 3 weeks before he died and his death came very unexpectedly. It will always bother me that I didn't get to say goodbye.

What I have learned from this is that its very common to take things for granted and to think you have more time with your family and friends, but at the end of the day it is better to seize opportunities to be with those you love and to make the time to spend time with them.

I know I will appreciate my time with my family much more now than I ever did before.

Fantasies at work

My dear friends, after the shift I had today at work on afternoon shift, I should have just stayed at home and stayed under the covers. Too bad about those pesky bills in my mailbox...

You ever feel like a referee caught between two people who hate each other with a passion??? Not fun and the clock on the wall ticked by ever so much slower till the end of shift when this situation starts brewing. Well thank you for letting me share and now my idea of a fantasy is to get in the shower with my favorite body wash and feel the hot water (as hot as I can stand) cascade down my back.

Yeah I know, I need to get out more!!!

I'd love to come home and see my favorite flower in a lovely vase....it would disolve some of the stress in my day....

Financial Realities of Life

We all have them and at times are burdened by them--the financial realities of life! But does it really have to be that way??? I don't think so....

If you are one of the fortunate one's who is organized, willing to lay out a plan for your financial success in the future and have the discipline to live out your future without all the "extra's" for a few lean years what you can obtain and the limits you reach are possible.

Like most people I didn't take into account the benefits of sticking to a budget and what a wonderful gift it is to know how to budget and to stay within those limits--as well as learning the hard way how damaging it is to not learn early on how to use Credit properly. It is only now that I am older that I am fed up with having to start from scratch again because of my past mistakes, but if anyone out there can learn from my mistakes, then great for them and I am working now to make a better future for myself and those I love.

It's funny really because some years back I received an invitation to attend this event that was being held by StoresOnline, which is based in Utah. I was not able to buy the offer they were selling. One consistent theme that part of the event was how to have Multiple Streams of Income! I am sure I am not wrong in stating that the majority of families are having a hard time making ends meet on two household incomes.

I have one income at the moment, and openly confess that it would be very helpful if I had one more or at least a few more...it would require some organization and time out of my week, but to achieve my goals, my dreams and to pay the bills it would be worth whatever time I'd have to invest!

If you are reading this, let me know what you think and it is my sincere hope that you are financially stable and are not struggling...all the best to you!

I am happy to report that I went back to work on 11 August and its been a few weeks and the job is going well. I am working with a great bunch of people and we all work well together to get the job done.

Actually my employer is a local Temp. Agency and so I should say that my Placement at the moment is wonderful!!!

Invisible Barriers

Sometimes its easy to see why people put up barriers and walls, but at other times its pretty much a mystery.

I met someone last year and we have been getting on beautifully with each other and the age difference between us was never an issue (for me), so it came as a shock this morning when I got a call that basically made me feel as if I'm being "blown-off!"

This man is wonderful and decent and I like his company, but now I feel as though maybe he does not like me so much anymore? Something I have said or done? or that he is just un-comfortable about the age issue because he has mentioned it several times. I am 48 and he is 62. Too bad the way things have turned out because this man is my Match in personality and I'll never know if it could have gone further.

I am being teased a great deal by my "loved one's" about what an old girl I am, and what an antique....

Funny thing about getting older....I find I have the patience for things that used to bug me, and none of the patience for people that I used to. I used to have to be in a group of people not to feel lonely.

But in the past few years I am actully embracing my time alone. I have a sense of peace and solitude that I have never known before. Does anyone else have this same experience??

The term Indian Giver has taken on a whole new meaning today: Everyone seems to think it means someone who gives a gift and then takes it back. Wrong, that is not what it means at all.

An Indian Giver is someone who is Aboriginal and who gives a gift to honour their friend or host, parent, etc...as is the aboriginal custom.

This past 10 months have been very trying and emotional for me, but finally I am beginning to find myself again and slowly heal from the hurts in my heart.

I have come to the conclusion its not just what people do that determine/show how they feel about you--it is also what they don't do that speaks volumes.

It has not been easy for me to move on, and I admit quite freely that I still think of Glen very much and I have had numerous bad days, but in having had no contact from him I don't need anything to be "spelled out for me." I still Love Glen with all of my heart, but in time I WILL HEAL & be able to move on.

Getting back to the things and the people I love is a healing step, and I hope that he is well. Is is not easy to get over someone you have loved with all of your heart, and continue to love with all your heart, but it can be done.

This Valentines Day was not the happiest, but who said showing love is just for couples. I made it work and lived through it. But it also was not as painful as I thought it would be. Love is everyday--valentines day is just a day. No biggie!

Photo Opportunities & Being Thankful

Family is very much on my mind at the moment--especially now at Christmastime.

For many years I have hated having my picture taken because I am not a very photogenic person (even when I was slim and better looking)...but lately I am feeling regret for the moments that I have passed up to have my picture taken with family and/or friends and these are moments that I can never get back.

One example of this would be in 2007 I had been invited by my younger daughter to be included in a 4Generations photo & didn't and now because of personal issues I truly truly regret not taking part in it.

So, if in the next two days while I have the chance again while I am with my elder daughter and her family I will do it.

I am just so thankful for my Family and for my Friends and when I have those moments where I want to refuse I MUST think about whether a very small act will just make my loved one happy, and happiness costs nothing!!!

Christmas Plans

I am leaving tomorrow to spend my Christmas with my daughter, Jackie, and her family. I have to travel a fair distance to see her and my grandchildren, but very much worth whatever distance I have to travel.

Finding Closure & Moving On from my LAST TRUE LOVE

Glen,

This is has been such a season of grief for me and finally I am coming out of it with the help of my family and friends.

There was never an "official" good-bye between us or any sense of closure and there was so much that I wanted to say to you when we first split.

The anger is beginning to subside and I can look at the past with happy memories. It would be wrong to say that there had only been bad times because that simply is not true.

It is my hope that you are happy and healthy.

You made a serious mistake in letting me go and we both know that I was and always will be the best thing that happened to you. I accept that you will never see that, let alone admit it...We both have such serious health issues to deal with in our own ways and I hope you are finally able to look at the truth of your situation and know that there is a better way for you to deal with things and a much better future when you give up the one thing that is destroying you.

I am working towards getting away from the one thing that has been destroying me....?For a time we found Love with each other and although we both knew it was bound to go away it hasnt't made it any less painful.

Take care of yourself.
